“Sai Kung Stingrays rugby and netball club aims to provide an inclusive, enjoyable playing environment to foster development, sportsmanship and community in a safe and fun atmosphere.”
It’s an honour to welcome you to the Sai Kung Stingrays Mini Rugby and Netball Club. Since our founding in 2006 by passionate parents and enthusiastic kids, the Stingrays have grown into a vibrant hub of the community here in Sai Kung, now home to over 700 players aged 4 to 18. At heart, we are a family club. Our youngest age groups are guided by mums and dads who bring energy and care to coaching and management, while professional coaches support our older rugby players and lead our netball programs throughout. Together, we create an environment where every child — whatever their shape, size, or ability — feels welcome, included, and inspired. For us, success isn’t measured only in trophies, but in smiles. Week after week, children return to the pitch with joy and enthusiasm, and that’s the true mark of what we’ve built. Of course, we’re proud of our competitive achievements too — league titles across youth rugby and netball, and Stingrays who’ve gone on to play senior representative rugby around the world. But above all, we celebrate the friendships, confidence, and love of sport that our players carry with them. We warmly welcome new families at any point in the season. Parent involvement is at the heart of our club, and whether you’re brand new to the game or an experienced coach, we’d love to have you join us on the pitch. The Stingrays are more than a sports club — we’re a family, a place where children thrive, and a community that celebrates every success, big or small. Jon Abel - Chairman
To be passionate about rugby and the lessons it provides;
Treat all people fairly, respect the game and all involved.
We operate as a team at all times; and we accept responsibility as a whole.
We aim high and challenge ourselves through participation, enjoyment and inclusive participation.
To work with the wider rugby communities to improve rugby for everyone involved and strive to be increasingly inclusive to elements of the Hong Kong Community not traditionally drawn to rugby.
The club are looking for a volunteer Social Media Manager to help bring the Sai Kung Stingrays story to life online and keep our community connected throughout the season. This is a flexible, manageable role ideal for a parent or player with an interest in social media and club sport.
